- Use wood ashes around the vegetable garden, bulb beds, and non-acid loving plants if soil pH is below 6.0

- Clean house gutters for fallen leaves, needles, and twigs (heavy rainfall will quickly overflow clogged gutters, possibly damaging foundation plant below)
