The purpose of the North Carolina Extension and Community Association is education through programs to encourage and assist members in promoting higher standards of family living, homemaking, and citizenship.


The mission of the North Carolina Extension and Community Association is to strengthen families through :

  • Leadership Development
  • Volunteer Work
  • Educational Support
  • Research-based education from North Carolina State University and North Carolina A&T State University


Educational programs, community service activities, and leadership opportunities support the following areas:

  • Public Policy Education
  • Health, Nutrition and Diet
  • Environment
  • Citizenship & Global Concerns
  • Parenting
  • Financial Planning
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Literacy
  • Cultural Enrichment


Currently,  community clubs in Alexander County include:

  • Friendship
  • Rocky Springs
  • Tuesday Ladies Club

Membership is open to any county resident who has interest in the Purpose and Mission of the association.
