Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with Us!
The Alexander County Cooperative Extension is excited to host a special educational series in honor of 250 years of American heritage, homegrown skills, and community resilience. Throughout the year, we’ll offer hands-on workshops that highlight the timeless practices that have nourished and supported families for generations. From gardening and seed saving to canning, budgeting, and food preservation, our workshops showcase the traditions that have supported families for generations.
This Lunch & Learn series is FREE and open to the public, and participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch as they enjoy practical, engaging sessions designed for all experience levels.
Whether you’re hoping to grow your own food, preserve the harvest, support pollinators, bake sourdough, or live more sustainably, these classes will guide you step-by-step. Join us as we learn, connect, and celebrate the skills that helped shape our nation—and continue to strengthen our community today.
Grow with us. Cook with us. Preserve with us.
Let’s celebrate 250 years of American know-how—together.
ALL classes will be on a WEDNESDAY from 12-1pm at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Office in Alexander County (151 W Main Ave., Taylorsville, NC 28681).
