Pool Owners BEWARE!!

— Written By

Two invasive insects have been found in neighboring states, the Asian longhorned beetle in South Carolina and the spotted lanternfly in Virginia. Oddly enough, both of these insects are attracted to water and can be found in pool filters! NC State Extension is teaming up with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services-Plant Industry Division and N.C. Forest Service to provide an outreach program, Poolside Pests.

If you find either of these invasive species please contact the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Alexander County Center at 828-632-4451.
